Intrade has listed a market for the winner of Season 9 of American Idol.
This market can be found under Entertainment > American Idol.
Contract Rules:
A contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the individual named in the contract wins American Idol.
A contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the individual named in the contract does not win American Idol.
Expiry will be based on the the official winner of the contest, as announced on American Idol.
The market will be expired in two stages:
The contracts for eliminated contestants will remain open until the final twelve contestants have been announced. The contracts for those who did not make the final twleve will then be expired at 0.
The contracts for the final twelve will then remain open until the final winner has been announced. Once the winner is announced the contract for the winning individual will be expired at 100 and all other contracts at 0. This is to account for the possibility that any previously departed contestant (either voluntarily or non-voluntarily) will be reinstated in the show at a later date.
If any new contestant(s) join the show, they will tradable via the AE.2010.OTHER contract. No new contract will be added to the existing listed market. The AE.2009.OTHER contract will remain open until the final winner has been announced.
Should there be two official winners, both relevant contracts will expire at 50. Should there be three official winners the relevant contracts will expire at 33 etc.
Should the rules or the nature or timing of the contest change significantly, the Exchange reserves the right to immediately amend these rules accordingly.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.
Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
