On November 13th 2009 the Obama administration announced it would prosecute Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in federal court in New York. Intrade has listed a market for the cancellation of the proposed civilian trial.

Contract Rules:

The contract will settle (expire) at 100 ($10.00) if the cancellation of the trial is announced before midnight ET on the date specified in the contract.

The contract will settle (expire) at 0 ($0.00) if the cancellation of the trial is not announced before midnight ET on the date specified in the contract.

Expiry will be based on official announcements by officials from the US Government, as reported by three independent and reliable media sources.

The trial will be considered cancelled if it is announced there will no longer be a civilian trial of the accused.

The Exchange reserves the right to invoke Contract Rule 1.8 (Time Protection) if deemed appropriate.

Any changes to the result after the contract has expired will not be taken into account - Exchange Rule 1.4
